ANOTHER YEAR BLOOMS released June 2007

debuts “Another Year Blooms” ...This jazzy new CD from COYOTE demonstrates their evolution and diversity as songwriters. This new release of 10 original songs, with a couple of sweet covers, is sure to please fans who already love their music and live performances. COYOTE's new CD will not disappoint those who love the variety of Marcy & Lou's music -- the tracks go from jazz to Cajun, folk to country and back again with a ballad thrown in there for good measure. True to their name, the listener never knows which genre or instrument they will hear next, but can trust it will be sweet!  (Chris Franks, efolkmusic.org)

Guest artists on the recording include: Emily DeVan on cello and Tommy Hutcherson on drums.

COYOTE - Live From The Outer Banks released June 2003

“Coyote Live From The Outer Banks” is a collection of fresh “covers” from our first season playing together. The song selection is what fans rave most about this recording -- from Stardust, Nora Jones, Gillian Welch and Nickel Creek to Sheryl Crow, Led Zeppelin, O, Brother and Dave Mathews -- there’s something for every ear.

The tracks were recorded as we were falling in love and
performing in front of audiences for the first time together and becoming COYOTE. The cover features a photo montage taken by Ann Ehringhaus of Ocracoke Island with liner notes including pictures and credits for each song. This recording will be a collector’s item some day as we are likely not to reprint any more runs.

From the back cover: “Our name comes from the first song we ever learned together. Marcy was shy and had to turn her back to Lou, but we managed to make a recording of that tender beginning in the winter of 2001.

In American Indian medicine, coyote means trickster or mischief maker, whose entertaining antics teach people how to deal with the mishaps of accidents of life. (PilgrimsWest). The coyote is primarily a transformer, an agent of change bringing order to chaos and chaos to order. (Beuys) Contained within trickster medicine is the humor of the ages. Coyote is you, me, booby traps, jet airplanes with toilets that don’t work, blind dates, and all the humorous and whimsical things we encounter along life’s way. Get ready for more of the laughs – lots more. (Medicine Cards)

The coyote in our logo was used by Nik Venet, Marcy’s songwriting mentor. We use the little howling coyote in memory of the evening coyote song and hawk dances they shared on the central coast of California so long ago. It is our way to forever include Nik’s spirit in our art and to honor a powerful collaboration with a legendary producer, teacher and friend.

Ocrafolk Sampler Cover

“Ocrafolk Sampler II” is a collection of live performances
from the summer season of Ocrafolk Opry shows at
Deepwater Theater on Ocracoke Island. It includes tracks
by Michele Robinson, Molasses Creek, Martin Garrish, Katy Mitchell, Banjo Les Lassiter, Cheryl Roberts, Capt. Rob Temple, Sundae Horn and Jule Garrish, complete with the show-closing finale of “I’ll Fly Away.” And of course, there is one track of COYOTE’s “Scorpio” – the first time any of our original material was published. You can acquire a copy through Soundside Records.
